Michele

September 28, 2008

Meet my friend Michele. Isn’t she beautiful? She so graciously agreed to pose for me so I could to an assignment from my photography mentor: a portrait using shadows. So often, photographers seek out even lighting by shooting in open shade, etc. It’s for a good reason, but the art of shadows is often lost in the process.

This was a challenge for me as I kept unconsciously trying to even the lighting out as we were shooting. I kept having to stop and remind myself of the purpose of the assignment. It was still a lot of fun, though!

Bookings

September 26, 2008

I am now completely booked for October, but I have a few slots available in November. If you would like portraits for Christmas, my session deadline is November 30th.

I am still running my grand opening special: no session fee and 50% off prints! There is a bit of fine print involved, however. Four people max per session, within a 30 mile radius of Bel Air, MD. Book now while it lasts!

Seeing the light

September 17, 2008

Oh, wow!

I finally calibrated my monitor. What a difference it makes!

This also means I am seeing old photos in new light. New green light, apparently. I will probably be going back and re-editing some photos posted here to correct the issue that I didn’t even know was there.

How embarrassing!

And some exciting news: I am getting a new camera! I just bought the new Nikon D700, and I am hoping it will arrive on Saturday. (Monday at the latest) I can’t wait to play with it. :)

Alex: Do you have a daylight balanced lamp near your computer or printer? That, along with a calibrated monitor will make a HUGE difference in your photos. You will see things so clearly

Baby Belly!

Remember Tiffany, from the multi-family portrait session? I was given the opportunity to do a maternity session her her. She looks amazing and I can’t wait to meet little Evelyn when she arrives!

Studio Fun!

September 3, 2008

Today I had the honor of joining Chelle from The Studio at Harford, in her studio. We shot my beautiful Kaylee who was a very willing model until we made her wear a tutu. Yeah that last image… that’s all she would do.

Boudoir Success!

September 2, 2008

The First Annual Boudoir Marathon Session was a smashing success.

My first shoot started at 11am and my last ended at 9:30pm. No, I wasn’t shooting the entire time! I think I’d drop dead from exhaustion!

I had a blast, and I think the girls I shot had a good time, too. The best news is some of them signed model releases, giving me permission to post some of the highlights on here!

Keep checking back for some Boudoir highlights!
